Understanding how we use cookies and local storage to power and personalize your Creator Studio experience.
1. What are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are small data files placed on your device, and local storage is a browser-based storage mechanism. We use both technologies to help us recognize you, remember your settings (like physics engine presets), manage secure user sessions, prevent abuse, and evaluate marketing referrals.
2. How We Use Cookies
Strictly necessary for security and core functionality. We store JSON Web Tokens (JWT) for session management, anti-CSRF tokens, and security challenge tokens (via Cloudflare Turnstile). These cannot be disabled.
Used to store your Studio preferences, such as default resolution, theme selection, custom spawner physics parameters, and simulation settings (rhythmic, escape modes). This data is cached in IndexedDB.
Only set if you allow the Analytics category. We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to understand which pages and features get used, plus a first-party event log for signed-in accounts. Until you consent, these tags run with all storage denied, they set no cookies and send no identifiers. We also keep referral origin and device capability in local storage to pick the right render settings.
Associated with our payment provider (PayPal). PayPal uses local storage and cookies to manage purchase checkout variables, track affiliate referrals, and prevent billing fraud.
3. Managing Preferences & Consent Logs
You choose per category: Strictly necessary, Preferences, Analytics, and Marketing & attribution. Everything except Strictly necessary is off until you turn it on, and refusing takes exactly one click. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of any page.
You can also manage cookies through your browser's security settings. Note that disabling essential local storage will impact the persistence of your simulation projects and login sessions.
Your choice is stored on your own device along with the time it was made and which categories you allowed, so we can show you what you agreed to and re-ask if this policy changes. Third-party tags are governed by Google Consent Mode v2, which keeps them denied by default rather than asking them to stop after the fact.
