Captions, Titles and Hashtags

How to write the text around your clip so it gets found and keeps people watching.

01

The On-Screen Title

The title you place on the video itself (in the Arts tab) is the most important text you write, because it is visible during autoplay before anyone reads a caption. Keep it short, pose the question the clip answers, and put it where it will not be covered by the platform's own interface: the top third is usually safe. The Studio also has an AI title generator that suggests a title from the simulation you built.

Pro Tip

Avoid burning text into the very bottom of the frame. TikTok, Reels, and Shorts all overlay captions and buttons there, and your text can get hidden.

02

Writing the Caption

The caption is where you reinforce the hook and give the algorithm context. A short, specific caption beats a long one. Restate the question or the result, and ask for the engagement you want ("guess the final count before it ends"). One caption rule is platform-specific and strict: X rejects posts with a link in the caption, so never put a URL there, add it in a reply instead.

03

Hashtags That Actually Help

Hashtags help the platform categorize your clip. A handful of relevant ones beats a wall of them: mix a broad tag (the format), a medium tag (the niche), and a specific tag (the exact content). For bouncing-ball content, tags around satisfying loops, ASMR, physics, and the specific mode or song tend to fit. Keep them honest: tags that do not match the clip hurt more than they help.

04

A Consistent Voice

Use the same title style, the same kind of hook, and a consistent visual identity across your clips so a viewer recognizes your content in the feed. A saved preset with your title placement, brand colours, and watermark already set (see Visuals & Aesthetics) makes that consistency automatic.
