Connecting Your Social Accounts
How the connect flow works for every platform, what access you are granting, and how connections are tied to your account and brand.
The Connect Flow
Connecting is the same on every platform. Open the Publish tab, click the platform's chip, and press its "Connect" button (for example, "Connect YouTube" or "Connect TikTok"). You are sent to that platform's own login and permission screen, where you sign in and approve the access. When you approve, the platform sends you back to the Studio and the card switches from a connect button to a publishing form. That is the whole flow: no copying keys, no passwords typed into our app.
- 1Open the Studio and go to the Publish tab.
- 2Click the chip for the platform you want (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and so on).
- 3Press the "Connect" button on the card.
- 4Sign in on the platform's own page and approve the requested access.
- 5You are returned to the Studio; the card now shows the publishing form.
What You Are Granting
The permission screen you approve is issued by the platform, not by us, and it lists exactly what you are allowing. In every case it is the access needed to upload a video and post it on your behalf, plus enough profile information to show you which account is connected. We never see or store your password, the platform gives us a revocable token instead, which you can withdraw at any time by disconnecting (or from the platform's own app settings).
Connecting is safe to do early. It does not post anything by itself, publishing only happens when you fill in a form and press publish.
One Connection per Account
Each platform connection links one specific account: one YouTube channel, one TikTok profile, one Instagram account, and so on. If you manage several channels on the same platform, you connect the one you want to post to. To switch which account a platform points at, disconnect the current one and connect the other. On Studio Elite, separate brands keep entirely separate connections, so you can hold different accounts per brand at the same time (see Managing Multiple Brands).
Staying Connected
Once connected, a platform stays connected until you disconnect it or the platform expires the access. Access can lapse if you change your password on that platform, revoke the app from the platform's settings, or leave it unused past the platform's token lifetime. If a connection lapses, the card will prompt you to reconnect, just press connect again and re-approve. Nothing you have already posted is affected.
