The Queue: Post Statuses, Retry and Cancel
What every status in the Queue tab means, how automatic retries work, and how to retry or cancel a post.
Upcoming and History
The Queue tab lists every post from the Studio, the composer and Autopilot, one row per platform. Upcoming holds anything not finished yet (Scheduled, Queued, Publishing). History holds everything else. Each row shows the platform, the caption or title, the time, the brand (when you have several), "Autopilot" if Autopilot created it, and the status.
Filter by brand ("All brands" or one brand) and by platform. The list refreshes on its own every 20 seconds, and "Refresh" reloads it now. "Load older posts" shows more history.
Status Labels
Each post shows one of these statuses.
| Status | What it means | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduled | Waiting for its publish time. Also shown while a failed attempt waits to be retried automatically. | Cancel |
| Queued | Its time has come and our servers have picked it up. | Wait |
| Publishing | Being sent to the platform right now. | Wait |
| Published | Live on the platform. | Remove it on the platform itself if needed |
| Failed | Every attempt failed. The error is shown under the row. | Retry or Cancel |
| Canceled | You cancelled it before it posted. | - |
Automatic Retries
If an attempt fails for a temporary reason, our servers try again on their own after a short wait, and the row stays Scheduled with a red line such as "Attempt 1 failed: [reason]". Only after the retries run out does the post become Failed. A post that fails never uses up a post from your monthly budget.
Retrying a Failed Post
A Failed post shows "Retry" while its video is still stored. The Retry dialog offers "Publish now" (goes out within a minute) or "Schedule for later" with a new time. It re-publishes the same file, so nothing is uploaded again and it does not use another post from your budget. Fix the cause first, usually by reconnecting the account. If the video is no longer stored, the row says "The video for this post is no longer stored. Upload it again to publish it." There is a limit on how many times one post can be retried; after that, schedule it again as a new post.
Cancelling a Post
Scheduled and Failed posts show "Cancel". Cancelling a scheduled post stops it and returns its post to your monthly budget. Cancelling a failed post gives up on it: the retry option and the stored video are removed. Both cannot be undone. A Published post cannot be cancelled here; delete it on the platform.
