How Publishing Works

Publishing lives in the Studio, in the last settings tab: Publish. Open it and you see a row of platform chips across the top, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest and Snapchat. Click a chip and the panel below shows that platform's card. If you have not connected the platform yet, the card shows a single connect button. Once connected, the same card becomes the publishing form for that platform. Everything to do with getting a video onto a social account happens here. You never leave the Studio to publish, and you never upload a file to the platform by hand.

When you press publish, two things happen in order. First, your video is uploaded straight to our cloud storage from your browser. Second, we hand the job to our servers, which do the actual talking to YouTube, TikTok and the rest. This split is why publishing feels fast and why you can walk away. The upload is the only part that needs your browser open. Once it finishes and the job is accepted, the server takes over, so you can close the tab, switch projects, or shut the laptop, and the post still goes out.

Every publishing form asks which video to send. You have two choices. "Latest render" uses the most recent recording you made in the Video tab, the normal path when you just finished a clip. "Local file" lets you pick an .mp4 from your computer instead, which is useful when you want to post an older export, or a file you edited in another app. If you choose latest render, make sure you actually recorded first (Video tab, then record). If nothing has been recorded this session, there is no render to publish.

Each form has a toggle: "Publish now" or "Schedule". Publish now uploads and posts as soon as the servers pick the job up, usually within a minute or two. Schedule reveals a date-and-time picker; the video uploads immediately but our servers hold it and release it at the moment you chose. Scheduling a specific time is fully supported, it is not a "coming soon" feature.

Below the individual platform cards is the Smart Scheduler. It lets you send one video to every connected platform you select in a single click, either now or scheduled. It reuses the same connections and the same upload, so you write your caption once and it goes everywhere. This is the fastest way to cross-post the same clip. Only platforms you have connected can be selected. Each platform still applies its own rules (for example, X strips links, TikTok needs a privacy choice), so the Smart Scheduler respects those per-platform requirements as it goes.

A single publish upload can be up to 200 MB. That is generous for short-form vertical clips, a 30 to 60 second 1080p export is usually well under it. If a file is too big, you get a clear message before the upload starts, so you never wait through a doomed upload. To get under the limit, record a shorter clip or a lower resolution, or re-encode the file smaller before choosing it as a local file.
